Sony’s Music Unlimited music-streaming iPhone app is now available in Ireland, giving users access to millions of songs.

Music Unlimited allows consumers to listen to their music libraries, playlists and channels, and discover new music. Songs can be easily added to playlists and users can browse by genre, era or even mood to find the music they want.

The new app for the iPhone and iPod touch can be downloaded for free but the service runs on a subscription-based model, with basic subscriptions costing €3.99 per month, or €9.99 per month for a premium subscription.

Subscribers gain access to Sony’s global catalogue of more than 15m licensed tracks from major and independent labels worldwide.

“We want to let users pick up their favourite device and crank up the Music Unlimited service at any time,” said Michael Aragon, vice-president and general manager of digital video and music services at Sony Network Entertainment International. “With the addition of the new iPhone and iPod touch app, users with a Basic or Premium subscription can listen to their favourite songs across a number of the most popular connected devices – in and out of the home.”

Music Unlimited is also available on connected Sony devices, such as the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Bravia TVs, and Android tablets and smartphones.
