Sony Ericsson Xperia Play to get official unveiling at Mobile World Congress

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play will be revealed on 13 February, during the Mobile World Congress.

Sony Ericsson has officially announced this date on its Facebook page, finally acknowledging that the PlayStation Phone is real.

Sony Ericsson also showed an ad for it during the Super Bowl. The ad features the Google Android mascot undergoing surgery in a back alley to get thumbs attached in order to play games on the new device.

The smartphone is said to feature a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, a Qualcomm Adreno 205 GPU, 512MB of RAM and could run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

HTC and LG device titles leaked

A number of devices from HTC and LG have been found within a German inventory system, potentially revealing a slew of new gadgets.

According to FoneArena, the devices revealed include the HTC Desire 2, the HTC Pyramid and the HTC Flyer tablet.

The list also includes the LG Optimus 3D and a product called the Star Tab LG, a tablet expected to be revealed soon.

MocoSpace may buy MySpace

Mobile social networking and gaming platform site MocoSpace has said it may purchase MySpace.

MocoSpace issued a statement saying both it and News Corp have begun talks to acquire the ailing social media site.

MocoSpace offers numerous mobile services, including casual gaming, social networking and mobile apps. It’s the largest mobile-only social network with 14m users.

News Corp wishes to sell MySpace, as its low search and advertising revenues is having an impact on its parent company’s financial results.
