We take a look at some of the most-viewed and most-shared videos on the web. More than 72 hours of video were uploaded to YouTube every minute in 2012, with more than 800m unique user visits and more than 4bn hours of video watched each month. More than 500 years of video is watched on Facebook every day, and more than 700 YouTube videos are shared on Twitter each minute, ensuring there is always video trending on the web.

The Office: An Unexpected Journey
I don’t think there’s a need for any spoilers here if you haven’t already seen The Hobbit. With some very clever editing, YouTube user eagerbeaverfilms has created a masterful mashup of BBC’s The Office into the film trailer for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. Featuring ‘David Brent’ as Gandalf, ‘Tim Canterbury’ as Bilbo Baggins and ‘Gareth Keenan’ as Smeagol, this video really is worth watching this week.
