YouTube prankster Steve Kardynal is at it again

We take a look at some of the most-viewed and most-shared videos on the web. This week features the return of a chatroulette legend, Team GB’s heroes having a good time, a new Team Fortress 2 update, proof that some cats just want to watch the world burn and, erm, Baby Got Back.

More than 72 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute, 500 years of video watched on Facebook every day, and more than 700 YouTube videos shared on Twitter each minute, ensuring there is always video trending on the web.

With so much video available for viewing, we take a look at some of the viral videos that have caught our eye this week.

Call Me Maybe – Carly Rae Jepsen (Chatroulette Version)

To most people the name Steve Kardynal might mean nothing, but mention “the guy who dances on Chatroulette in a bikini” and it will probably ring a few bells. Kardynal became a viral sensation in 2010 with his Lady Gaga – Telephone Chatroulette video and he seems to have found another internet hit with his version of this summer’s most-parodied song Call me Maybe.

adidas | Team GB Don’t Stop Me Now

Still trying to cling onto that Olympic feeling? With the Paralympic Games still a couple of weeks away, Adidas has managed to fill the void for awhile with its rendition of Queen’s Don’t Stop me Now, featuring some of Team GB’s Olympic medallists.

Mann vs. Machine

Yes, I admit to having a slight Team Fortress 2 addiction in recent weeks, but who can blame me? New updates to the gameplay, a new video capturing software launched and now Valve is releasing a player versus AI update! Yes, it appears Red and Blue have put their differences aside to do battle with robots in this six player co-op mode. Goodbye, weekend plans.

Teddy the asshole cat

Cats are such loving, cute and affectionate creatures aren’t they? Try telling that to to ‘Teddy’, whose nonchalant destruction found its way to YouTube this week and gathered more than 2m views so far.

“Baby Got Back” sung by the movies

What do Casablanca, The Departed, Amadeus and To Kill a Mockingbird all have in common? If you answered “they’ve all won the Academy Award for Best Picture” you’d be wrong (To Kill a Mockingbird didn’t, if you were wondering). What the do have in common, though, is they all contribute lines to dondrapersayswhat‘s viral video. The video features 295 movies to recreate Sir Mix-a-lot‘s 1992 smash hit Baby Got Back.
