We take a look at some of the most-viewed and most-shared videos on the web. This week features the food chain at work, the quiet beauty of GTA V, a working mother’s ‘quit-eo’, another Irish-language hit from Coláise Lurgan, a musical look back on Breaking Bad and Stephen Colbert’s determination to keep it going.

About 100 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute, 500 years of video watched on Facebook every day, and more than 700 YouTube videos shared on Twitter each minute, ensuring there is always video trending on the web.

With so much video available for viewing, we take a look at some of the viral videos that have caught our eye this week.

Breaking Bad series recap and tribute song

It’s the end of Breaking Bad as we know it – and we’re not fine. At least, that’s how this ode to the beloved TV series goes, while reminding us of the events that transpired over five seasons, 62 episodes and two years of anti-hero Walter White’s life. Filled with graphic content and spoilers, of course.

Stephen Colbert kidnaps Vince Gilligan

Speaking of Breaking Bad, chat-show host Stephen Colbert seems to have taken a tip from last week’s viral videos to heart, kidnapping show creator Vince Gilligan and trying to force out more episodes. Again, we must warn you of spoilers – and the use of Jesse Pinkman’s favourite word.

‘I Quit’ – the WAHM version

This week, Marina Shifrin started a new YouTube trend: the ‘quit-eo’. When she uploaded a video of resignation, it went viral and inspired others to issue their leaving papers in similar fashion. Namely, Brenna Jennings, a work-at-home mother (WAHM) who’s had enough.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis as Gaeilge

It’s no secret that we’re big fans of Coláiste Lurgan’s Irish-language music videos, and they have impressed us once again. This time, it’s tough to keep up with the rapid-fire rapping as Gaeilge as the Gaeltacht students take on ‘Can’t Hold Us’, but they clearly did the song-makers proud and even snagged a celebrity introduction from Macklemór and Riain Mac Lughaidh.
