Still from 'How Animals Eat Their Food' by Mister Epic Mann

We take a look at some of the most-viewed and most-shared videos on the web. This week features a seven-year-old’s college football touchdown, grisly special effects from The Walking Dead, some golfing trickery, a guide on how animals eat their food, and a wheezy waiter rapping what he sees.

More than 72 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute, 500 years of video watched on Facebook every day, and more than 700 YouTube videos shared on Twitter each minute, ensuring there is always video trending on the web.

With so much video available for viewing, we take a look at some of the viral videos that have caught our eye this week. That is, aside from a daredevil raccoon tightrope walking across telephone wires.

Jack Hoffman with a 69-yard touchdown

We’ll start off this week’s viral videos selection with a heartwarming treat. Seven-year-old Jack Hoffman is currently undergoing 60 weeks of chemotherapy to treat paediatric brain cancer, but that didn’t stop him scoring a touchdown in the Nebraska Football Spring Game in honour of the Team Jack Foundation.

Awesome trick golf shot

While warming up for this year’s Masters in Augusta National Golf Club, American golfer Rickie Fowler succeeded in getting to the green by skimming the ball across a water hazard. With trick shots like that, it seems that Fowler’s play is as colourful as his get-up.

How animals eat their food

We can’t quite pin down what’s so beguiling about this video from Mister Epic Mann, but we do know that it has earned close to 15m views in less than a week, and for that it deserves an inclusion on our weekly round-up. That and a reference to the T-rex’s tiny, tiny arms.

Rap City Rhapsody

We just recently became acquainted with the work of Wheezy Waiter and have quickly realised that more than 400,000 subscribers can’t be wrong. Here the bearded vlogger has taken it upon himself to wander around his hometown of Chicago rapping everything that he sees. What results is quite a bit catchier than expected, and you’ll be singing the chorus in your head all day (or probably just one time).
