Worms World Party, the great masterpiece of 2D gaming, is due an overhaul of sorts, with a remastered version in the works.

Planned for release early next month, Team17 have been working on touching up the final 2D edition of Worms that was originally released back in 2001.

A video released this week shows some of the tweaks, which include 1080p graphics and 60FPS for PCs. There is also full support or controllers as well as some Steam inclusions.

Now, through Stream, there will be scoreboards, achievements and cloud saving, with the Worms World Party available for €13 from July 8.

So for those of us who dedicated countless hours to mastering the cluster grenade and homing missile, it looks like we’re being taken care of once again.

Presumably there will be loads of new weapons and scenes to fight on, but check out the video here and see for yourself.
