The Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation, Conor Lenihan TD, is in Turin, Italy, this weekend for the handover ceremony for Dublin’s successful bid to host the 2012 City of Science event.
He will also meet with Turin Mayor Sergio Chiamporino and regional president Roberto Cota.
“This is the Olympics of science and our campaign prior to the event will kick off this year. Scientists from all over the world will come to Dublin in 2012 and it is a great opportunity to showcase Ireland’s achievements as a smart economy.
“Science and technology are at the heart of the Government’s economic recovery plan and investors continue to have confidence in Ireland’s R&D infrastructure,” Lenihan said.
