Griffith College in Dublin is hosting free games and mobile development workshops for teenagers in the coming weeks.

As part of its Techie Teens programme, the faculty of computing science at Griffith College will host free computer workshops in games development and mobile app development for teenagers at its Dublin 8 campus in South Dublin.

The workshops will run from 2-5pm each day from 22-26 July for games development enthusiasts and 29 July-1 August for those interested in mobile application development.

Open to students between the ages of 15-18, the beginners’ workshops will allow those who have had an interest in this area to learn how to develop their own games or mobile applications for iPhones and the Android operating system.

IT professionals and lecturers of the Griffith College computing faculty will teach the workshop participants.

“With the summer now upon us and exams a distant memory, these workshops will allow students to gain a basic knowledge of computing and programming while having some fun at the same time,” said Eoin Carroll, undergraduate programme director of computing.
