Nominations open today for the 2010 ISA Software Industry Awards, which is now in its 32nd year and is seeking recognition for outstanding Irish technology companies in areas including technical innovation, software collaboration and emerging business.
Sponsored by William Fry, Enterprise Ireland, Science Foundation Ireland and Helix Health, the 2010 ISA Software Industry Awards has recognised several Irish businesses who have gone on to achieve international success including Norkom, Arantech. Openet and Qumas.
Sean O’Sullivan, managing director of previous winner Avego, said that the award has helped grow his business.
“Ireland has a great reputation as a home for world-class software development. Winning the 2009 ‘Emerging Software Business of the Year Award’ for Avego has helped our team attract top developers, both from Ireland and abroad, and it has helped validate and raise awareness to new customers that they are going with a winning, innovative company,” he said.
ISA director Paul Sweetman said the point of the awards is to recognise the innovative skills amongst those working in the Irish software sector: “Over the past year, the indigenous software industry has performed well, growing by 6pc.
“Annual exports are now valued at more than €850m. This success is a result of the smart skills and flexibility that characterises Irish software companies.”
