Online exam preparation resource for Leaving Cert and Junior Cert students Mocks.ie saw more than 10,000 new users sign up to the service in the last month.

The service was developed by three Galway-based engineers – David Collins, Eoghain Ryan and Ailish Ryan – offering Leaving Cert and Junior Cert students advice, past exam papers and study timetables. It also offers mock exam papers with correction and feedback from a state examiner from €13.95.

More than 27,000 individual students used Mocks.ie in 2011, which was more than 60pc repeat business for revision notes, aural tests and exam questions priced from €3.

In the 2011/2012 school year, more than 30,000 students used Mocks.ie either focusing on single exam subjects for extra support or working across exam subjects to reinforce learning.

Mocks.ie also has free apps for students for Android and iOS devices.

“Young people are very tech-savvy these days, and relate better to online applications, including computer-based study and exams,” said Collins.

“Our feedback is that the convenience and accessibility of Mocks.ie relieves some of the pressure on students and helps them plan their revision and test their knowledge, while taking the fear out of sitting a real exam paper,” he said.
