Vodafone reduces CO2 emissions by 34pc

Vodafone Ireland has achieved a reduction of CO2 emissions by omore than 30pc, according a report.

Vodafone and the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, Eamon Ryan TD, launched the new report ‘The Journey to Sustainability’, at an event in Dublin today.

One of its key highlights was Vodafone’s 34pc reduction of CO2 emissions.

Evolution

“Since I helped launch Vodafone’s Green Agenda in November 2008, I have watched with interest as the programme has evolved over the last two years. Vodafone are to be congratulated for the progress they have made. We must all work together to secure our future,” said Ryan.

“We recognise that we have a responsibility to care for the environment and to offer our employees and customers a more sustainable way of living,” Jeroen Hoencamp, CEO, Vodafone Ireland, said at the launch. He added that customers will receive a 15pc discount on the Vodafone range of “green” products until Monday, 4 October.
