4 May 2011

A spin-out from NDRC’s LaunchPad programme, Italian start-up business b-sm@rk, has been announced as the winner of NDRC’s ‘Lift Off’ competition for tech start-ups.

b-sm@rk was among nine start-ups transitioning from NDRC’s LaunchPad accelerator and competing for an investment prize fund to the value of €60,000.

Promoting itself as “five times more effective than the ‘like’ button”, b-sm@rk is a new online tool for emotionally tagging and reviewing web content, offering top brands and retailers enhanced market intelligence.  It makes the user content interaction more personal and accurate.

The investor panel that picked the winner included Shay Garvey, Delta Partners, HBAN Angel Investor of the Year Conall Lavery from TechExecs Syndicate, Brand Consultant Noel Toolan and Ben Hurley, CEO, NDRC.

NDRC’s LaunchPad is now open to applications from small entrepreneurial teams with strong digital start-up ideas to secure a place on the investment programme. The deadline for applications is 8 July.
