Science Picture Company attracts international business

Dublin-based 3D animation start-up The Science Picture Company is dealing with international clients such as Sky News, Readers Digest Group and the Mayo Clinic, in the short time since it set up.

The Science Picture Company is a stock image agency specialising in high-end, computer-generated medical and scientific illustrations.

The young Irish company has carved a niche for itself in image creation, which has opened doors internationally.

It recently completed a project for EUmom.ie, where it created a series of illustrations to show fetal development during the 40 weeks of pregnancy. These are used on the pregnancy calendar on the EUmom website.

Michael Grant and Eoin Winston founded the company in 2008 and Grant said it expected to sign “many more high-profile clients in the near future”.

Both Grant and Winston are experienced digital 3D artists. Having worked in the field of medical visualisation for many years, they came together to form a high-end production studio specialising in medical and scientific visualisation.

“The future for the Science Picture Company is to continue working with the best companies in the world to visualise their concepts while expanding its range of products, services and stock imagery collection,” said Grant.
