Little Vista, a Dun Laoghaire-based software company that has created an app that is revolutionising how crèches and childcare facilities operate, is to create nine new jobs after closing a major investment round.

Little Vista’s tablet-based technology helps centres significantly reduce paperwork; affording staff greater time to care for children and reduces overheads with an easy to use software application.

“We’re hugely excited to change the way childcare centres operate,” said Kieran Walkin, one of Little Vista’s four founders.

“We want to lead the charge in the transition from paper to digital and create a greater level of intimacy between childcare providers and parents.”

The app enables childcare centres to securely log real-time data, key information and also photographs of children which can be shared instantly with their parents.

Peace of mind for parents

Little Vista, formerly known as Crechecom, gives parents a detailed snapshot of a child’s activities – regardless of whether they are at work, home or on the move. The app gives parents peace of mind with an immediate and detailed account of a child’s day.

As well as real-time updates on naps, meals, activities and and bathroom breaks, childcare staff can log activities from the approved pre-school curriculum such as Siolta and Aistear – and share developmental progress and photos with parents.

Little Vista’s nine new appointments – in sales, software development and customer care – brings the workforce to 14 people – from just two in 2013.

The app is currently being used by over 150 childcare facilities throughout Ireland and serves almost 10,000 families nationwide.

As well as expanding its workforce, Little Vista is finalising plans to move into the UK childcare market, with recruitment for staff currently in progress.
