FinTech Innovation Lab London accepting applicants for 2016

19 Aug 2015

The application period for Accenture’s fourth annual FinTech Innovation Lab London has opened, launching the search for the top fintech innovators in the UK, Europe and elsewhere.

The FinTech Innovation Lab London is a 12-week mentoring programme, starting in January 2016.

The programme helps fintech entrepreneurs to accelerate product development and gain exposure to leading financial-industry executives.

15 start-ups will be selected to take part in the programme. Each will be partnered with a senior-level bank executive, who will work with them to fine-tune and develop their technologies and business strategies.

“The financial services industry is being reimagined by the accelerated adoption of new technologies by financial institutions and a corresponding surge of innovation and new ideas from small, entrepreneurial companies across the UK and Europe,” said Accenture managing director Julian Skan.

Skan, who oversees FinTech Innovation Lab London, went on to say that: “There are many talented entrepreneurs who are creating products and services that have the potential to disrupt the industry, and game-changing technologies that can help financial institutions enhance their operations. By bringing them together with senior decision makers from the world’s financial services firms, the Lab can both act as catalyst to new innovation and help financial institutions to adapt and push forward the transformation of the industry”.

Six of the start-ups will be chosen to take part in an Investor Day, at which they will present their products in front of venture capitalists and industry executives.

Fintech entrepreneurs developing disruptive technologies, products and services are invited to apply before 18 September.

Accenture Ireland operates its own FinTech Innovation Lab, which will be taking applications from an as-yet-unspecified date in October.
