Up to a third of the 20,000 new companies set up this year are in the property sector, a new report published on business information website vision-net.ie suggests.

The latest statistics, published in the Irish Times, say that more than 10,000 companies have been dissolved this year and that almost 300 new companies are set up every week.

The website report adds that 379 companies were sent into liquidation in the third quarter of the year and that overall the numbers of companies failing in business outweigh those succeeding.
