Irish start-up BonzaQuote has beaten off competition from global start-ups to take part in the Blackbox Connect Program in Silicon Valley later this month.

BonzaQuote is an Irish start-up that is creating an online community and marketplace for DIY fans to select the best products and prices for their next home improvement project from leading retailers.

Competing against thousands of start-ups worldwide, the company will represent Ireland at Blackbox Connect from 17 August to 28 August.

Silicon Valley ecosystem

Blackbox Connect takes the best young companies from all over the world and brings them to Palo Alto for two weeks to meet with investors, develop relationships in the Silicon Valley ecosystem, and launch into the wider US market.

BonzaQuote CEO Jack Drea will have a chance to meet with some of the world’s leading investors, including Reid Hoffman, Scale Venture Partners, and Google Ventures, and work with other interesting start-ups from more than 15 countries.

“We have already had great traction with some of Europe’s largest DIY and building supply companies and Blackbox will give us an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to the US market, which is where the world’s leading DIY retailers are based,” said Drea.
