Clear Returns, a start-up from Glasgow, Scotland, has won IBM’s SmartCamp Kickstart Dublin competition. The company will now head to IBM’s Kickstart event in Berlin, Germany, in November to compete against other SmartCamp winners from around Europe.
Clear Returns won out over the four other start-ups competing in the SmartCamp finals: Von Bismark, OptiWi-Fi, Esave and Foxframe.
The company will now head to the European qualifiers of SmartCamp Kickstart in November in Berlin to vie for a place in the global finals in New York.
Clear Returns is pioneering intelligence software to predict product returns at the point of sale and prevent them from happening. The company’s value proposition is a 5pc reduction in returns for a small UK retailer will improve profits by stg£1m per annum.
As for SmartCamps, IBM set them up to help entrepreneurs bring new solutions to global markets quickly by providing mentoring and access to technology and expertise.
