Dragons’ Den judge to launch competition for next-gen entrepreneurs

14 Feb 2011

Dragons’ Den judge Sean Gallagher will launch ‘Generation Next’, a new entrepreneurship competition for college students.

‘Generation Next’ is aimed at introducing entrepreneurship to young people. It was developed by the South-East Regional Authority (SERA) as part of its involvement in the YES (Youth Entrepreneurship Strategies) Project, which is partially funded by the European Union’s INTERREG IVC programme. The competition is supported by the nationwide network of County and City Enterprise Boards (CEBs).

The competition invites third-level students to submit ideas on how to introduce entrepreneurship as a subject in primary-school classrooms.

Gallagher, who is famous for his television appearances as a judge on the reality programme Dragons’ Den, is one of the country’s most successful entrepreneurs. He is the co-founder and CEO of the technology company Smarthomes.

The competition commences at 10.30am on 15 February in the presentation room of the Digital Depot, Roe Lane, The Digital Hub, Dublin 8.
