The publisher of Goldenpages.ie FCR Media has set up a start-up incubator at its Dublin offices aimed at supporting start-ups focused on creating innovative tech solutions for local merchants.

FCR Media Ireland is part of the FCR Media Group, which is present in 12 countries throughout Europe and is a leader in local search and advertising.

The StartLocal incubator is aimed at providing collaborative space for up-and-coming tech start-ups to grow their businesses over six months.

The incubator is open for applications and has already found a home for promising start-ups PopDeem, Spruced.ie, Open WiFi and Holvi.

“Aside from the central location and the state-of-the-art office space – we will be able to leverage off the depth of expertise and industry knowledge of FCR Media, who are well-established in our industry,” said Richard Whelan, CEO of PopDeem, which recently received a €500,000 investment from Delta Partners and Enterprise Ireland.

PopDeem provides a social marketing platform for brands and local merchants to drive online engagement on social networks.

As well as the office space, FCR Media said the companies will be able to pitch to CEOs in each of the 12 countries it is active in, as well as receive support and sales advice from the company’s team in Dublin.
