Greenshoots, a nine-month business development programme that allows business owners to unlock their entrepreneurial brilliance, is calling on start-up and innovative businesses to apply for a place on the programme.

The Greenshoots Emerging Entrepreneurs Programme at Macroom E Enterprise Centre in Macroom, Co Cork, will start in September 2012 and run until June 2013.

Throughout the programme, the successful applicants will avail of free office space at Macroom E Enterprise Centre, meetings with expert mentors, business coaching, and access to a network of support agencies and successfully established entrepreneurs. Weekly workshops will also be on offer on key areas of business development, such as HR, marketing, market research, and financial know-how.

“We are very excited at the prospect of finding another 10 potential success stories to participate in the upcoming programme,” said programme manager Catherine Costello.

“I would encourage anyone with a strong idea or an early stage business to contact me to discuss the possibility of turning it into a viable business.”

Past participants of the programme include Lucy Hyland of Food for Living, Ed Donovan of HeartAid, Eileen Moylan of Claddagh Design, and Jaco Nel of Greengate Solar, amongst many others.

Applicants must be in business less than five years, be ready to work full time on their business and commit to the Greenshoots programme for nine months.

The programme is free of charge for successful applicants, with sponsorship from Cork County Council and South Cork Enterprise Board.
