New online resource for start-ups goes live

1 Mar 2010

Bizstartup.ie, a new online resource for start-ups in Ireland, will bring together top advice and expert tips from leading Irish entrepreneurs, as well as a virtual help-desk facility where users can post questions for a panel of experts to answer.

Designed to be Ireland’s one-stop shop for anyone considering setting up a business, Bizstartup.ie will also offer users regularly updated news, video interviews and a comprehensive listing of relevant events and courses.

“It’s great to see such a rich information resource being made available to those looking to set up a new business in Ireland,” said Colum O’Sullivan (Sully), co-founder of award-winning food company Cully & Sully and one of the “mentors” on the new site.

“We’re always keen to support those looking to start out in business in whatever way we can, so I jumped at the chance to be part of this new online initiative, in the role of mentor,” said O’Sullivan at the launch of the website.

“It takes courage to start out on your own, and having been through the process ourselves, I’m hoping to offer our experience and knowledge to this important community.”

Other mentors and experts who will be offering their words of wisdom on the site include John Teeling, Ivan Yates, Mark Kellett, Maurice Mortell, Anthuan Xavier, Dr Aidan O’Boyle and Will McKee.

“As anyone who has started a business knows, you need all the help and advice you can get,” said publisher Darren McAuliffe at the launch.

“With the launch of Bizstartup.ie, we hope to provide visitors with all the information and advice that will help them succeed in starting and growing their business.

“Bizstartup.ie connects people who need the information the most with those best placed to give it,” he continued.

“We have been overwhelmed by the support we have received from mentors and experts who are giving of their time voluntarily to lend aspiring entrepreneurs a hand. It is our hope that more and more of Ireland’s successful businesspeople will join us as mentors or experts as the site continues to grow and develop,” McAuliffe explained.
