New web app tells start-ups if they are growing faster than Facebook

Do you know if your start-up shares the same growth dynamic as successful players like Etsy, Facebook or Dropbox? A new web app allows start-ups to share and compare their journeys with the world.

The new My Startup Story web app by Jelf Small Business allows start-ups to compare their employee and revenue growth against web giants like eBay, Facebook and Match.com.

The start-up’s growth is then plotted on the entrepreneur’s own personal graph which they can then share with their Twitter followers.

“When you start a business, it can be tricky to know exactly how you’re doing,” explained Rob Rees, managing director of Jelf Small Business.

“One of the best ways to gauge your growth is to compare your achievements against those of well-known brands. Before now, there wasn’t an easy way to do this – so we created one.

“It is great to be able to say ‘my company grew faster than Facebook in year two’, or ‘we predict we will grow faster than Etsy’. As the graph presents your numbers in terms of percentage growth, it doesn’t matter whether your start-up is little or large, everyone can get involved and try to find a big name they have grown faster than. If your business is only a couple of years old, the graph can show predicted growth, too, so no one should feel left out,” Rees said.
