Irish start-ups Vidiro and Temptster have won prizes worth stg£25,000 each at the IC Tomorrow Digital Challenge held in Shoreditch, London’s tech quarter.

Competing with more than 130 entrants from across Europe, the two companies made it to the final pitches in London yesterday and both won their respective categories.

The companies are paid the stg£25,000 by IC Tomorrow Digital Innovation to build their applications and get to keep all of the IP. Challenge partners get to direct the development of the apps in line with their needs and get a solution.

Video analytics company Vidiro has secured a contract to develop a talent-spotting application for Syco (The X-Factor judge Simon Cowell’s company) and Sony Entertainment.

Restaurant discovery app Temptster will work with the British Film Institute to develop an application that will help the institute sell last-minute unfilled cinema seats.
