Write My Assignments – an online first in Ireland

25 Feb 2011

Masters students at Smurfit Business School Michael Noble and Matthew Kehoe have launched a company called ‘Write My Assignments’ targeting third-level students.

“We provide a service for current third-level students whereby original academic papers can be composed by high-calibre post-graduates according to the student’s brief. These assignments can then be used to assist the student when approaching the document themselves,” explains Noble.

“Since our official launch on 7 February, we have received an overwhelming amount of attention on Facebook and we have been inundated with requests from students to compose their assignments.

“This resulted in articles being published in both the Trinity College Dublin newspaper Trinity News and University College Dublin’s College Tribune.

Write My Assignments is now registered with the Companies Registration Office and a number of documents have been completed for students via the site. It has a database of more than 550 mentors from various disciplines built up over the past four months.

“While some people have questioned the business’ orientation, we see ourselves as an educational company that is filling a need in the marketplace,” says Noble. “There is nothing like this in Ireland, most of these types of sites are in the US and there are a couple in the UK.

“The way it works is, if a student wants help, they send us a brief of what they need and we send this on to a list of suitable mentors. When a mentor agrees to do the job we ask for a quote and if the student agrees to it, we take a percentage of the fee.”
