UK Prime Minister David Cameron’s ambassador to London’s TechCity Ben Hammersley gave a lively keynote speech at the Digital Ireland Forum in Dublin today. As well as being an ambassador to London’s equivalent of Silicon Valley, Hammersley is editor-at-large of Wired magazine in the UK.

Hammersley has worked for the BBC, The Times and The Guardian. He is a member of the European Commission’s High Level Expert Group on Media Freedom.

Famous also for inventing the word ‘podcast’, he recently published 64 Things you Need to Know Now for Then.

Hammersley is also innovator in residence at the Centre for Creative and Social Technologies at Goldsmiths, University of London, and non-resident fellow of the 21st Century Defense Initiative at the Brookings Institute, Washington, DC.
