Gigglebit is Siliconrepublic’s daily dose of the funny and fantastic from around the web, such as this cat getting a video call from its owner.

Cats are practically worshipped on the internet, and it seems they’re becoming a tech-savvy species in their own right.

Reddit user Devenu posted this image, explaining how he set up a webcam when spending the summer in Canada, away from his cat Whiskers.

“I had the computer on standby and Skype was set up to accept any call; basically whenever I called it would wake up,” he explained.

Calling his cat a week later, Devenu noticed her sleeping on a nest of old shirts he had made on the couch.

“I said hello once and immediately her head perked up and she started looking around the room meowing. I kept talking to her and she finally jumped on the desk howling. She was starting to poke and prod everything seemingly thinking I was inside of either the monitor or the computer itself. Finally she gave up and just sat on the couch staring at the monitor while I talked to her. She gave up and went back to sleep shortly after.”

Really, the picture says it all.
