Wimbledon 2015, as seen in Vines

10 Jul 2015

This year’s Wimbledon has already seen its fair share of thrills and spills. And luckily for us, Vines exist to give an added dimension to how we view entertainment.

Indeed the introduction of Vines into society means that there’s now a platform for official PR, terribly short pirated content, dreadful ‘sketches’ and a social media environment thirsty for more.

For example who really knew what it looked like at Wimbledon when the doors are opened and thousands of watchers pour towards their court of choice?

A trusted lieutenant of Wimbledon, of course, Rufus the Hawk.

He’s used by the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club – the hosts of Wimbledon – to keep pigeons away from its venue.

He has his own Twitter account (@RufusTheHawk) and his name lends to a current a 360o ‘viewer experience’.

But how does he clock out at the end of a long slog, you ask? Well…

There is some strict etiquette to tennis, especially when it comes to grand slams, and especially x2 when it comes to Wimbledon.

For example, you never want to be the guy or girl who yells out at the wrong time…

And you should always, always keep your eye on the ball…

Always…

If you remember all of that then you can sit back and enjoy an injured neck from keeping an eye on the often stressful tennis presented in front of you… Sometimes, you are lucky enough to see something amazing…

Sometimes not…

Don’t take it too hard when you forget what you were going to say…

Who knows, you might even get a souvenir!

But either way, go out and enjoy yourself. Main image of Roger Federer, via Justin Smith on Flickr
