This week in viral videos, Taylor Swift gets the Todrick Hall quad treatment, drones build a rope bridge, a man survives a scary glass attack and a 92-year-old sings a love song to his dying wife.
It’s been an odd week for videos, with bizarre controversies in UK politics and the Rugby World Cup dominating pretty much everything out there.
We say pretty much because, when kids can’t blow out candles or rats can’t fully carry their pizza slices home then there’s always something to watch out for.
4 Taylor Swifts by Todrick Hall
Todrick Hall is a bit of a beast on YouTube, with previous sketches doing extremely well. But this week Hall’s masterpiece revolves around Taylor Swift, four breaks in the screen and a brilliantly choreographed project.
Skirting through the artists back catalogue, Hall brings us right up to the present day, in a way that’s entertaining enough to even keep us non-Swiftians entertained.

Activewear – Skit Box
Australian comedy group Skit Box have noticed a trend, and it’s something many of us have spotted too. The phenomenon of women wearing active-wear to make it look like they’re keeping fit, when all they’re doing is standing around.
You could do something similar on the Mamil craze (middle aged men in lycra) that has dominated the cycling scene of Europe recently, but for now this should suffice.
Giant rat bringing pizza home on the subway
There’s not a whole lot to say to this video. YouTuber Matt Little came across a rat that had nabbed some of New York’s finest sidewalk pizza, dragging it down the stairs of the subway to its home.

Building a rope bridge with flying machines
For those of you unaware of just how technologically advanced drones have gotten in just four or five years, here is a video of three drones gradually building a rope bridge.
This is part of a body of research in aerial construction, a field that addresses the construction of structures with the aid of flying machines.

Man sings to 93-year-old dying wife
Ok, you’ve made it this far with a smile on your face, but now come the tears. YouTuber Erin Solari recently went with her 92-year-old grandfather to visit his dying wife in a hospice.
There, he sung her a song that comforted her when he went away to fight in World War II.
“My grandparents Laura and Howard have been married 73 years. In this video Howard is 92 and Laura is 93. Laura (Grandma) is at a hospice facility making peace with her final days. I was lucky enough to capture this precious, heart-melting moment between the two of them.”
