Chinese Star Wars trailer has more new footage as release approaches

10 Dec 2015

I’ve heard of a trailer giving away spoilers but this is getting ridiculous. Nearly putting the amount of trailers released into double figures, the Chinese Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer has hit the small screen.

The Chinese Star Wars trailer has a whole load of new footage taken from the film, which, when you piece it all together, must mean that half of the film has pretty much been shown at this stage.

Like pretty much everywhere else, Stars Wars: The Force Awakens is a pretty big deal in China, with millions of people expected to hit the cinemas on its release date on 17 December, but China actually has to wait until 7 January 2016.

While I do not speak the language, I’m led to believe that the man wielding the CGI lightsaber is none other than Lu Han!

For those unfamiliar, including myself up until very recently, he is one of 12 members of the Chinese/Korean boy band Exo, which is basically a music conglomerate that are actually two bands who sing the same music, but in two different languages to cater to the widest audience. Incredible.

As for the trailer, well it’s what you expect; there’s new footage, new dialogue and a whole load of lightsabers, Millennium Falcons and giant sets.

One week, folks.
