Gigglebit: Obama’s State of the Nation address gets Auto-Tuned (video)

24 Jan 2015

Gigglebit is Siliconrepublic’s daily dose of the funny and fantastic in science and tech, to help start your day on a lighter note. Today US President Barack Obama’s State of the Nation becomes a Songify the News mix.

By all accounts President Obama’s State of the Union address was a real zinger and it is hard to improve on perfection.

That’s why it is with the greatest irony – and mirth – that Auto-Tune technology normally used to make bad singers sound better has been applied to Obama’s State of the Union address as leader of the American people.

Yes, those irascible Gregory Brothers, famous for their viral videos and Songify the News series (formerly known as Auto-Tune the News) have immortalised Obama’s speech in a song called 1999.

We think it’s fairly catchy and the President has never sounded better.

Enjoy!
