With so much video available for viewing, we take a look at some of the viral videos that have caught our eye this week.

Cub’s first steps in Toronto Zoo

We’ll kick off the first of our viral videos this week with something of epic cuteness – the first steps of a newly born polar bear cub at Toronto Zoo. More than 5.1m people have watched the video. We dare you not to be moved by the awesomeness of this.

Storms in Lahinch

Speaking of awesome, the Irish are often awestruck by the weather; it’s the nation’s No 1 talking point even though the country rarely gets extremes. The recent storms that shook Ireland after Christmas, however, deserve a lot of attention and this video of waves crashing down on Lahinch harbour in Co Clare are awe-inspiring. Keep an eye on the minions at the bottom left corner, they can’t get enough of it.

Make love, not war

This latest ad for Axe (that’s Lynx this side of the water) deodorant is epic in the extreme, promoting a message of peace, love and testosterone in a thought-provoking way. As deodorant ads go, this one surely deserves an Oscar.

Devil baby attack

There are pranks that provoke laughter and then there are pranks that provoke near heart attacks. This is one of the latter. Watch as a remote-controlled pram wheels its way across the path of unsuspecting strangers …

Batkid The Movie

A polished official movie of the amazing spectacle that greeted San Francisco, California, when a young boy diagnosed with cancer got an entire city to co-operate and allow him to live out his dream of working with Batman. Life-affirming in every way.

BBC Winter Olympics trailer

The Winter Olympics are coming. The BBC’s over-the-top trailer for the Winter Olympics is a visual feast but really belongs north of the Wall in the Game of Thrones saga. Even so, it’s oddly inspirational.

Husky says no

It can’t all be about the cats. This hilarious video of a husky refusing to go out to his kennel has been watched by more than 4m people. Seriously, this little guy is stubborn.
