A trailblazer in the world of venture capital (VC), Arlan Hamilton has had an eventful year since she last took to the Inspirefest stage in 2017. She sat with the event’s founder and CEO of Siliconrepublic.com, Ann O’Dea, to discuss her plans for the future.
Since 2017, the Backstage team has expanded rapidly. “Lots of people have joined our journey,” said Hamilton.
She hopes to turn the homogeneous world of VC upside down, by offering representation, help and the crucial capital that minority-led businesses need in order to flourish. “It’s about what I represent. Some people say now: ‘I can do something.’”
Backstage is well on the way to achieving its goals, and the business has made its 100th investment, with plenty more to come. As the future unfolds, expect even bigger things from Hamilton and her enthusiastic team.
