Saturday 12 September saw a huge influx of jobseekers at The Convention Centre Dublin. They were there for Career Zoo, Ireland’s largest tech recruitment event, and many wanted to meet with headline sponsor Zalando.
Siliconrepublic.com spoke to David O’Donoghue, Head of Engineering at Zalando’s Dublin headquarters, about what Zalando wanted to get out of Career Zoo, and what the company looks for in candidates.
O’Donoghue talked about the buzz and energy returning to Dublin as the economy improves, the challenges of working in data science, diversity being ingrained in the Zalando DNA and the future of Zalando in Ireland.
