This year, students from across the globe travelled to Dublin to battle it out for the coveted EUCYS top prize.

The European Union Contest for Young Scientists (EUCYS) marks its 30th anniversary this year.

The event, which took place at the RDS in Dublin between 14 and 19 September, saw 139 students from 38 countries gather to showcase their impressive projects.

Each participant scooped the top prize in their country’s national science competition and met in Dublin to see how they fared against their peers.

BT Young Scientist 2018 winner Simon Meehan, whose project dazzled judges in January, represented Ireland at this year’s EUCYS.
