Anil Dash has been around since the internet was first getting its legs. Now that it has become so large, dark and unwieldy, the question remains of whether it can be redeemed.

When Anil Dash first became an active internet user, it was a much smaller and simpler community. The number of people active on social media in New York, for example, could fit around two tables in a Mexican restaurant, he said. Intentions were, Dash argues, much purer.

Since that point, things have veered off at a sharp angle, not that anyone needs to be told that. Yet the question remains: can it be redeemed?

At Inspirefest 2019, Dash dove into his personal history with the internet and what he thinks needs to happen moving forward.
