At Inspirefest 2018, SAP’s Liam Ryan regaled the audience with the firm’s experience of implementing an ‘Autism at Work’ programme in partnership with Specialisterne.

According to SAP Labs Ireland managing director Liam Ryan, as many as 80pc of people on the autism spectrum in Ireland are unemployed.

SAP, in partnership with Specialisterne Ireland, hopes to correct that grim statistic with its ‘Autism at Work’ programme.

The programme is not limited to Ireland, however. The initial interest in this kind of scheme was first sparked by SAP India managing director Feroze V R after his son was diagnosed with autism at two-and-a-half years old.

The programme, Ryan stressed at Inspirefest 2018, is in line with SAP’s philosophy as a company.
