Seth Cluett is the artist in residence at Bell Labs. His research centres around how technology and music can be brought together to augment, as opposed to diminish, the human connection to music.

Technology and humanity seem in many ways to be at odds with one another. One may wonder how the two could possibly be married successfully.

As Bell Labs’ Seth Cluett explained to the rapt Inspirefest 2019 audience, a lot of it boils down to haptics. That is, recreating the immediate tactile feedback one gets with a traditional instrument either through a technological augmentation or with an entirely digital instrument.
