From the personal story of finding her birth mother to the unexpected responsibility she now has, Sheree Atcheson gave a powerful talk at Inspirefest.

Sri Lankan by birth and adopted at three weeks old by an Irish couple, Sheree Atcheson grew up in rural Ireland.

At just 27 years old, Atcheson has accomplished so much, having been listed as one of the UK’s most influential women in tech two years in a row and recently being named a board-appointed global ambassador for Women Who Code.

These accolades, she told the Inspirefest 2018 audience, come with a certain level of responsibility to represent and be visible in the tech community because “the tech industry does not have one face”.

She said because tech is so unique, fluid and diverse, representation within the industry matters, and diversity is vital.
