The Tyndall National Institute had plenty of tech on show at the 2015 Innovation Showcase, including a pacemaker that can be powered by kinetic energy from the heart.

This revolutionary device eliminates the need for a battery to power a pacemaker, increasing its reliability and extending the lifetime of the device to up to 40 years.

The game-changing pacemaker is in development at Tyndall National Institute and could become available in another seven-to-10 years.
