This was the suggestion pitched to the Inspirefest 2016 audience by Vicki Saunders, founder of SheEO.
This global collaboration network creates communities of 1,000 women, with each woman contributing $1,000 to create a $1m fund for women entrepreneurs.
With a pilot launched in Canada last July, the goal of SheEO is to reach 1,000 communities by 2020. That adds up to $1bn of capital going to women entrepreneurs in the next four years – a prospect unsurprisingly met with great applause in the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre.
