John Elder’s keynote at Predict 2015 advocated the importance of teamwork, both from those analysing data but also the models processing the data.
For 20 years, Elder’s firm, Elder Research, has delivered advanced analytics for clients, and, in an interview with Siliconrepublic.com, Elder acknowledged that the practice is now having its moment in the spotlight.
But the mythical multi-skilled data scientist is as unique a discovery as a unicorn, and so Elder Research has found it best to work in teams with a diverse set of skills and perspectives.
Additionally, it seems that models can also benefit from teamwork, as Elder presents the concept of a ‘board of directors of models’.
