Investors Adam Quinton of Lucas Point Ventures and Claudia Iannazzo of Pereg Ventures pondered a question during their joint keynote at Inspirefest 2016: how are the women still missing in venture capital?
As Quinton pointed out, women now earn more than half of master’s degrees and PhDs in the US, yet the proportion of women in venture capital stands at just 6pc.
This figure was 10pc 15 years ago.
“The number of women in the industry is declining at a very rapid rate,” lamented Iannazzo.
“We have got to start funding the change we want to see in this industry.”
