“A key part of this Government's strategy to create employment and growth in the economy is to ensure that we can build on our established base of world-leading technology companies,” the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton, TD, said this morning.
“This means ensuring that more and more dynamic and innovative international companies locate operations here, and ensuring that more indigenous companies start and expand on the back of their presence here. This announcement by yet another dynamic technology company that it is locating major global headquarters in Dublin is great news and shows that we are making real progress.”
“Engine Yard is expanding globally, and we are excited to open our EMEA headquarters in Ireland and support the region's thriving technology community,” said John Dillon, CEO of Engine Yard.
“Joining forces with Dublin-based Orchestra strengthens both our technological and geographical coverage, bringing our industry-leading platform to an even greater number of customers seeking to leverage the cloud for competitive advantage.”
Barry O’Leary, CEO, IDA Ireland, in welcoming Engine Yard to Dublin said: “I am delighted that a pioneering company like Engine Yard has chosen to establish its EMEA headquarters in Dublin. Cloud computing represents a major economic opportunity for Ireland.
“IDA Ireland, as part of our Horizon 2020 strategy, will continue to target and win investments from high-growth technology companies in order to become a global cloud centre of excellence.”
