Back to work? Feeling the Fear? Can’t remember how to hold a pen? It’s okay. We’re all in this together.
It’s the first Monday of the year and, for many of us, the first day back to work after a long and lovely end-of-year break.
(Remember the break? Oh, wasn’t it wonderful?!)
In truth, your return to work after a long break starts the night before with The Fear.
Then, after a restless night trying to force your body back into a regular routine, you have to get up.
You may think you can get through this, lean in to the fear and take on the day.
Then you quickly realise all hope is lost.
I mean, just look at that inbox. How can you possibly do this?
No, really, how anything?
Alternatively, maybe you’re one of the lucky ones bound for success. (In which case, move on, you mystical creature. This post is not for you.)
The rest of us may try to escape, but it’s no use.
But you must resist the temptation to completely flip out.
Remember why you’re here.
Accept your fate, and try to motivate yourself.
Failing that, fake it ’til you make it.
And, remember, all things come to an end… until tomorrow.
