Global professional services company Accenture is growing in Ireland.
The company has announced 450 jobs over the last six months, and aims to fill all of these before the end of August this year. That’s a massive show of support for the company’s Dublin-based operations.
We sat down with Audrey O’Mahony, Accenture Ireland’s head of people and change consulting, who said that the company is looking for candidates with backgrounds in technology, data or analytics, and those who have an interest in artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics.
But there’s more to it than that.
“We’re not just looking for people to work on those technologies,” says O’Mahony. “We’re actually looking for creative thinkers. People who are going to be part of creating the most exciting technologies that we’re going to have on offer here in Ireland.”
O’Mahony believes that Accenture offers an attractive proposition to potential employees, offering roles full of variety and constant change.
As a result, they don’t face the retention problems plaguing many companies in the tech sector, according to O’Mahony: “We have a very low attrition rate and we have, over the last number of years, had double-digit growth in terms of growing our business, and that has been reflected in our headcount as well.”
Those who do opt to pursue a career at Accenture will be entering a company with a strong ethos of supporting diversity of all kinds.
While the company is proud of its gender diversity – with 30pc of leadership roles filled by women – O’Mahony says that Accenture diversity policies go far beyond gender.
In addition to celebrating women, those policies cement continued commitment to the LGBT community, encouraging non-discrimination and equality for all.
Furthermore, the company places a focus on supporting enablement, utilising technologies and flexible working arrangements that make it possible for disabled people to fully contribute.
