Dublin-headquartered music video website Muzu.tv has been chosen by AlwaysOn as one of the 2010 OnMedia 100, as well as the overall winner of the digital publisher category.

According to AlwaysOn, the list includes ‘the hottest emerging companies in digital advertising’ and gives insight into the coming trends in monetisation. The Top 100 were selected by the AlwaysOn editorial team and industry experts spanning the globe, based on a set of five criteria: innovation, market potential, commercialisation, stakeholder value and media buzz.

Muzu.tv licensing deals

Muzu.tv has video licensing deals in place with the four major record labels as well as thousands of independent labels. The company generates high premium advertising revenue across a series of formats, both on-site and via its players and licensed content which it syndicates to major publishers.

“We’re delighted to have received this accolade,” said Muzu.tv founder and CEO Ciaran Bollard. “By combining one of the biggest music-video libraries on the web with innovative premium advertising formats, we are defining the landscape for the advertising-supported video model.”

“We congratulate the OnMedia 100 winners for their success in introducing the tools, services and platforms that continue to disrupt the old ways of Madison Avenue for the benefit of marketers and content consumers alike,” said Tony Perkins, founder and CEO of AlwaysOn.

Muzu.tv and the other OnMedia 100 companies will be honoured at AlwaysOn’s OnMedia NYC event on 1 February, 2010, at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York City. The OnMedia 100 winners were selected from among hundreds of other technology companies nominated by investors, bankers, journalists and industry insiders.  The AlwaysOn editorial team conducted a rigorous three-month selection process to finalise the 2010 list.
