Best places to work? Think Apple, Google, Facebook

Tech giants Apple, Google and Facebook are among the best places to work, company review site Glassdoor has revealed in its fourth annual Employees’ Choice Awards.

Glassdoor compiled the 50 best places to work for 2012 based on feedback from more than 250,000 workers.

Global management consulting firm Bain & Company is the No 1 best place to work on the list. Social network Facebook came in third, with a 4.3 out of 5 satisfaction rating. Internet search giant Google rated 4 out 5, in fifth place. Consumer tech powerhouse Apple came in at the No 10 spot, with a rating of 3.9 out of 5.

The rankings take into account factors such as salary and benefits, work-life balance, job growth opportunities and CEO performance.

Several Facebook employees deemed the company a competitive but rewarding and amazing place to work.

Many of Google’s employees cited its perks and compensation, adding it is a good place for engineers, though some found it too big now and often juggling too many projects, CNET reported.

Apple staff cited good co-workers and the chance to work with innovative products and cool technologies.

The top 10 best places to work, according to Glassdoor’s fourth annual Employees’ Choice Awards:

1. Bain & Company – 4.7 (satisfaction rating out of 5)

2. McKinsey and Company – 4.3

3. Facebook – 4.3

4. MITRE – 4.1

5. Google – 4.0

6. CareerBuilder – 4.0

7. Slalom Consulting – 4.0

8. REI – 4.0

9. Trader Joe’s – 4.0

10. Apple – 3.9
