Insurance firm Robertson Low in €200k cloud deal

Managed services player Novosco has won a €200,000 cloud computing deal with insurance broker Robertson Low.

By outsourcing its IT system to Novosco, Robertson Low – the only Irish incorporated ‘Lloyd’s broker’ – stands to save €50,000 over the next five years.

The move to a private cloud model means that Robertson Low’s IT systems and applications are now delivered securely over the internet, eliminating capital costs, reducing operating costs, increasing security, and delivering improved performance with faster speeds and reliability.

Robertson Low employees can now access their files from any location, facilitating a more flexible and mobile workforce.

“Implementing a cloud solution has significantly changed the way we work,” said Andrew Low, managing director of Robertson Low.

“Firstly, it removes our dependency on local servers and having to use certain devices at certain locations. Our staff can now securely access the applications and data they need from anywhere, anytime and using virtually any device.

“Another major benefit was the reduction in the cost of acquiring and maintaining our IT systems.

“By moving to this service, we have replaced a potentially large upfront capital spend with a smaller monthly operating expense,” Low said.
